First meal from our family favorites bundle, the chicken stew, it was kinda bland so I added spices and a can of cream of chicken soup,1/2 can water, in crockpot for 41/2 hours, the last hour I made drop dumplings on top of stew , it was delicious, , the dumplings were a must , it was good just needed some spices . On to the next meal tomorrow
I served this over biscuits. I would like to figure out how to do more of like a pie crust something for it. I did add some seasoning because it was a little bland, but it was a nice dinner!
If I'd cooked according to directions, the chicken would have been way overcooked. I was around to check on the food, having the week off. The big chunks of chicken seemed to be already cooked while the vegetables were still undercooked. I pulled the chicken (why use chicken breast for this when dark meat is so much more forgiving?) after 1 hour and let the veggies cook another few hours. I also cut the chicken up, as the chunks were way too big. It was tasty, but not a "set it and forget it" meal, which I would need on a busy week.
Delicious
This meal was full of big chunks of chicken and veggies....nice texture. Needed a little more flavor for my liking.....so I just added some chicken bouillon and just a dash of garlic salt....and delicious....will order again.
